Geneseo Robotics Club visits Rotary

Representatives from the Geneseo Robotics Club were the guest presenters at our March 25th meeting.  GHS students and team members Jonathan Moore and Carl Flynn introduced the group to competitive robotics, outlining everything from the construction of the robot itself, to how a competition is scored.

Representatives from the Geneseo Robotics Club were the guest presenters at our March 25th meeting.  GHS students and team members Jonathan Moore and Carl Flynn introduced the group to competitive robotics, outlining everything from the construction of the robot itself, to how a competition is scored.  The Geneseo Robotics Club currently has 3 teams that compete on a regional level.  The format for each competition changes on an annual basis.  As you can imagine, Geneseo Rotarians asked plenty of questions, and many members stayed late to find out more about these hi-tech toys!  Those who stayed late were rewarded with a demonstration of the team's current robot, designed to stack and pick up bean bags.  Special thanks to Tom Dearing for introducing us to this group!
